WANT IN? OUR NEXT ENROLLMENT PERIOD OPENS IN:
"Working with Heidi has been a life-saver and a joy. She is extremely knowledgeable, understanding, and kind in her approach to the treatment. When my back went out suddenly I was terrified because I had no idea what was going on with my body. Heidi was reassuring, calming, and guided me through strengthening exercises that helped me get back on my feet, literally. I used to think there was no hope for my long-term dance-related injuries. However, all of that has changed with the HPA Program. I truly feel my body becoming stronger and healthier!"
— Jenny Florkowski (Wicked, Cats, 42nd Street, White Christmas)
Let's face it—there's nothing more frustrating than not being able to dance. It seems like just when you think you've recovered and strengthened enough to dance, your body fails you again. It often feels like the more you dance, the faster your body breaks down. Not only that, but the more you feel your body is breaking down, the more time and money you have to spend on recovery and strengthening—not dancing. And, there's definitely nothing more disheartening than feeling like your years as a dancer are eventually coming to an end.
You know how to take care of your body. You are likely constantly using resources to regularly see a physical therapist, chiropractor, acupuncturist, and/or massage therapist so that you can continue to dance...
And yet—you're never seeing real, lasting results.
There isn't enough time to see your therapists and doctors. You don't have enough money to pay for the care you need. You're always needing to depend on others for recovery and strengthening. You wish you had time to rest, but that's hardly a realistic option. Being a dancer is demanding—not only on your body, but on your schedule and wallet too!
Other dancers making it look like their machines, but you feel your body is breaking down faster than you can keep up.
You thought the hard part was finding a good doctor, physical therapist, or therapy style that could help, but as it turns out, that wasn't the answer to long-term recovery, strength, and longevity. Now, you feel you've tried everything—only to be left with temporary results and repeat problems and injuries.
You're not alone!
Here's the truth: MOST dancers are struggling with recovering quickly and correctly, strengthening properly, and desperately trying to extend their dance careers—whether they show it or not.
The problem? You haven't found a solution tailored especially for dancers that can address ALL of your issues, fits into your schedule, fits into your budget, and doesn't require other people and equipment.
What if there was a way to make sure you could recover quickly and strengthen your entire body in a way that brings lasting change, helps you reach your potential, and extends your career as a dancer from home?
Like most of you, I have been a dancer all my life. Not being able to dance would be devastating...
But in 2017, the reality of not being able to be a dancer anymore was becoming increasingly real.
After returning home from the National Tour of Matilda, I had to completely stop dancing. It seemed no matter what treatments I received (physical therapy, e-stim dry needling, massage therapy, KT) my body just couldn’t strengthen and recover from the injuries and the demands of being a dancer anymore.
An MRI revealed my entire lumbar spine was degenerating, a disk had herniated, and a lumbar vertebrae was beginning to slip backwards off of the one beneath it. I was in so much pain.
My body was weak, I couldn't recover from injuries, and I was seeing my career coming to an end.
Desperate to get back to dancing and auditioning, I rushed to all of the methods that I had either already tried or that friends and experts recommended: 'Broadway' doctors, physical therapy, a personal trainer, chiropractic, acupuncture, orthotics, KT tape, cranio-sacral therapy, fascia blasting, massage, e-stim dry needling— you name it, I tried it.
Even though I was bleeding time and money only to get temporary results, I kept doing the same old things that weren't working.
I had to recover. I had to dance.
Desperate and out of options, I tried one last thing I had heard was popular in pro sports— postural alignment therapy.
Within an hour and a half of my postural alignment therapy appointment, my back pain and hip pain (that had me in tears almost daily) was gone. GONE. Not less—GONE.
That's when I knew this was unlike anything I had ever tried or heard about before.
While my full and lasting recovery would be a process and journey, my therapist showed me that there is an answer to being able to recover, strengthen, and ensure longevity. I learned that the answers lie in being able to live and dance in proper anatomical alignment. The knowledge of how the human body was designed, and what happens when our body deviates from that design, changed everything for me.
That's when MOVE WITH HPA™ and the HPA Program™ were born!
I created MOVEWITHHPA For Dancers so that you too can find recovery, strength, and longevity in ways you haven't been able to before.
The HPA Program was created by a professional dancer, for dancers. It is 100% customized to your exact needs—because no two dancers are the same. This means that your program will be developed specifically for you by someone who KNOWS what it means and what it takes to be a dancer.

"After my exercises, I feel tall, long, and like my spine has space, and I can walk with buoyancy!!!!! I feel much improved. I’m telling everyone. I'm so happy, Heidi. I lie in my positions and just think...’I'm getting better.’ You are doing magic. You are the best. Thank you, Heidi. I was telling my PT about you! The abs are killer and the other exercises are genius! Heidi, I'm so grateful to you. I feel so good! I'm on a high!"
— Ashley Elizabeth Hale (Some Like It Hot, Frozen, Matilda)
The HPA Program is a specialized program designed to help you recover, strengthen, and prepare your body for the long haul, so that you can reach your potential as a dancer.
The program was originally created to help professional dancers meet the demands of Broadway and other dance professions. It has given our dancers hope, reassurance, and excitement of a future as a dancer.
If you are a dancer, or just someone who wants and needs their body to go the distance, then this is an opportunity I promise you will not want to miss!
"The exercises work! When I do them consistently, I feel less stiff when I wake up in the morning, I feel warm quicker when getting ready to dance, and I am in LESS PAIN! My neck and foot pain have been immensely helped by the exercises Heidi provides for me, and I feel free to dance uninhibited, which is a dream. Heidi is a miracle-worker!"
— Natalie Wisdom (Frozen, Matilda, Billy Elliot, Groundhog Day)
Your body is your instrument. It's how you express yourself, relate to the word, and make a living. You need your entire body to be fully functioning at all times...
But as much as we want to be machines, we are human. Things happen and there's only so much money and time to go around to fix and improve our precious instruments.
This is a step-by-step program created by a professional dancer, for dancers. It gives you hope, guidance, and the tools needed to recover quickly, maximize your performance abilities, and ensure you enjoy a long and healthy career.

HPA works by identifying your unique structural misalignments, imbalances, dysfunctions, limitations, and compensations through posture photos and video movement tests.
Your certified postural alignment specialist (certified by Egoscue University) will use the data from your feedback forms, photos, and videos to access your posture and choose pinpointed, anatomically correct exercises and stretches that retrain and strengthen your body to work correctly and fully.
As your body heals, strengthens and proper alignment is restored, your routines will be updated based on each new posture photo/video/client feedback submission!
Nope!
All exercises can be done with household items such as: chairs, ottomans, a belt/yoga strap, stairs, and a pillow—or nothing at all.
There are a few postural alignment therapy items that were created to maximize the effectiveness of certain exercises, but they are not necessary.
If you are interested in purchasing postural alignment therapy equipment, you can reach out to us at hello@movewithhpa.com and we can point you in the right direction!
Yes! Because HPA systematically returns your body to it's intended anatomically correct state, is a wonderful compliment to dance and cross-training.
Performing your routine before dancing, performing, or cross-training is recommended. Most clients find the best results starting their days with their routines (but anytime is better than nothing)!
Most people feel, see, and experience positive, immediate changes and improvements after performing their HPA routine. Frequency and consistency are key in continuing to see amazing results.
Many report feeling a greater sense of buoyancy, balance, flexibility, and strength right away; others may feel intense soreness or resistance. All of these physical responses are an expected and normal result of shifting misalignments and asking your body to retrain and realign its musculoskeletal system.
HPA exercises and stretches are to be performed with precision and care. We gently work through soreness or resistance, but we DO NOT PUSH THROUGH PAIN.
The HPA Program can be done alongside any other method or therapy without conflict because HPA systematically returns your body to it's intended anatomically correct state.
That being said, many of our clients stop or significantly reduce their physical therapy visits after seeing immediate and long-term results with HPA.
To see a certified postural alignment therapist in-person would cost you $1,644.50 up front for 8 visits—that's $205 out of pocket per visit.
At MOVE WITH HPA, we know that performers and dancers need an affordable treatment plan that helps them to recover, strengthen, and ensure longevity home, a holding room, a dressing room, on tour or from wherever you find yourself!
We charge $159/month if you choose the option to pay monthly, or $129/month if you choose to pay quarterly ($387/every 3 months)— that's cheaper than one visit in-person at a clinic!
While I believe that this method is essential and absolutely worth the in-person cost, I know it's not a sustainable price for most artists, that's why I created the HPA Program for dancers.
It is recommended that you do your routine at least once per day. If you want to increase the speed of your success, you can do your routine two times per day.
Sometimes your body may need a rest day, but consistency is key!
The more you work your body in anatomically correct positions, the faster you will heal from injuries and increase strength, balance, and flexibility.
You're the expert!
